Pros: Usually under 6 patients at night. CNAs, especially 3rd floor, are amazing. Most RNs are travelers and helpful. Free parking, any scrubs.

Cons: Float every 4 hours and always first admit, sometimes back to back. Traveler manager unreachable. Some charges give travelers heavy loads. House sup slow to help, waited 4 hours for a US IV on heparin…

Pros: Amazing first assignment, extended to 6 months. External float pool covering every med-surg floor plus ED/ICU holds and never once got an unfair assignment. Ratios 1:2 to 1:6, some nights I had 2 all …

Cons: Float every 4 hours at times. Burnt out MDs who delay care, are hard to reach and skip rapids. Some drama between floors. No cafeteria at night.
