Cons: PCU is really med-surg stepdown at 1:5, flexed to 6, charge takes 2-3. With 2 CNAs you do your own vitals, sugars and weights, and aides skip turns. Bed alarms and pumps ignored, not-my-patient mindse…
Pros: Not a bad place on medical stepdown. Small rural hospital and I loved the people I worked with. 5:1 on stepdown and they try to spread out acuity, mostly tele with heparin and cardizem drips.
