Pros: Did a year here and wouldn't mind going back. Nice hospital overall. PCU units run 1:4 or 1:5, decent schedule. PACU is great with a wide variety of cases and nice nurses.
Cons: You'll likely be in the PCU float pool which includes Banner Tucson South, avoid South at all costs. MS/Tele is 1:5/1:6 and some units are really heavy. Mostly travelers, no OT allowed. An OR traveler…
Pros: Large level 1 academic center. Attached garages, big cafeteria, supplies stocked. Adult rooms 1:4-5. Monitor tech watches rhythms. Medics good, LVNs awesome, RNs good. Transporters available.
Cons: Techs hit or miss. Hallway area with 10-12 patients and variable ratios. Non-trauma CTs wait for hours. Get guaranteed hours in your contract. Very hot summers. Cerner.
